Day 1 was travel day - not many pictures to share. Oh, wait - here's one...
Yeah - after everyone arrived in Rome safely, we got our cars and proceeded to drive 4 1/2 hours to our villa in Lucca, Tuscany. It wasn't easy to find, even with the GPS, but we eventually did and it is well worth it.
After a well deserved and much appreciated night's sleep, we went off exploring the nearby sights. Some of the highlights are captured below. No need to specify the first stop... I'm sure you all recognize it.
After Pisa, it was into the beautiful walled city of Lucca, for some great Italian food, including of course, Gelato. Then we wondered around, took in some shopping, churches and great sight seeing... typical European vacation. Excellent launch to what promises to be a great two weeks.
